El Gobierno venezolano ha ampliado a 10 años la vigencia del pasaporte venezolano para los ciudadanos mayores de 18 años de edad. La información está contenida en la Gaceta Oficial Nº 42.092, con fecha de publicación 22 de marzo de 2021.
En la norma se dictó el Reglamento Parcial del Decreto con Rango, Valor y Fuerza de Ley de Reforma de la Ley Orgánica de Identificación, relativo a la expedición, renovación y prórroga de pasaportes.
Se agregó que la vigencia será de 3 años para los menores de 3 años de edad y de 5 años para los niños, niñas y adolescentes mayores de 3 años de edad y menores de 18.
Los documentos emitidos antes del 22 de marzo de 2021 mantendrán el tiempo de vida útil anterior.
El pasaporte ordinario deberá expedirse en un lapso de 30 días hábiles, contados a partir del día siguiente de la consignación de los recaudas y de la roma del registro facial del solicitante.
Renovación del pasaporte
Los venezolanos podrán tramitar la renovación del pasaporte por motivo de vencimiento, la utilización de todas las hojas de la libreta, deterioro, pérdida, robo o cuando exista modificación en los datos de identificación.
Los requisitos para la renovación del documento de identificación serán los mismos contemplados para su expedición por primera vez.
Prórroga del pasaporte
En la Gaceta Oficial se indicó además que cuando el pasaporte otorgado a un ciudadano aún esté en óptimas condiciones físicas que permitan prolongar su vida útil, podrá extenderse por una sola vez por un período máximo de cinco años.
Se indicó que la prórroga contendrá los mismos datos y registro biométrico. Y que el ministerio con competencia en materia de identificación establecerá los mecanismos para extender la vigencia de los pasaportes sin quebrantar sus elementos de seguridad.
